We thought this year’s Glastonbury festival was going to be an appalling wash out with everyone gripping on to the overall joy of being in the mud together and amazing music to pull us through. But we were wrong! The festival gods pulled through to bring out some stunning weather for us all to enjoy. The Rolling Stones made history, the sunshine was fantastic, the music was AMAZING, the toilets… were the same as usual but the fashion stakes were firmly set for us all.
I love festival fashion, probably because I am far too highly strung and dirt-phobic to understand how people manage to look chic in a pair of wellies! In the face of joining the great unwashed, J’adore Tresor set out to document our favourite looks and see how the celebs manage to pull off festival fashion!
Glastonbury always delivers on music and fashion, in the most fun and riotous ways. Take for example, British rocker Miles Kane, Miles pulled off a fantastic solo set where he was joined by Arctic Monkeys legend Alex Turner (swoon!) to the delight of everyone there. Miles managed to trash his drum kit, leaving them without one for Hard Rock Calling festival, do an exclusive performance with Alex and then join the Arctic Monkeys on the Pyramid Stage. These amazing feats are made event better by the fact that he managed to pull off this patterned extravaganza!
Not to be outdone on the style stakes the ladies pushed the bounderies on and off stage! Rita Ora and Laura Mvula definitely upped the ante for performance outfits. Rita looked red hot in her fringed outfit which was nicely set off by her gold toned jewellery and Laura Mvula stole our hearts in her quirky white ensemble.
The bold and the beautiful all had a different take on festival fashion from Florence Welch’s injection of colour and brave choice of heels to Katherine Jenkins’ playful kitty top teemed with sweet powder blue shorts. We love the casual look from the Geldof sisters teamed with the almost masculine black boots and the 50’s glam look Rita Ora pulled off is a great reminder that glamping is possible, the whole pencil dress, cat-eye glasses and wide-brimmed hat make her our favourite celeb look. But who wins for you???
Our little love affair with lovebuds Millie Mackintosh (of Made in Chelsea fame) and Professor Green was heightened by their matching khaki looks. Perhaps matching celebs was a “thing” this year, because Professor Green’s orange wellies bear a striking resemblance to Nick Grimshaw’s…
The festival gods would strike us down in our next mud-filled fun ride if we didn’t mention the queen of festival fashion – Kate Moss. Kate, as usual, looked just the right level of casual rock chick in her almost all black outfit. It looked great paired with the long gold necklace and blue floral shirt. She looked totally loved up with hubby Jamie Hince who followed suit with tight black trousers and leather fringed coat. Ah Kate, long may she reign supreme!
