This week’s Wednesday Worship is dedicated to a true British beauty; Emilia Clarke.
Born in London, and brought up in Berkshire, Emilia is the daughter of a theatre sounds engineer and a businesswoman. Due to the nature of her father’s work, Emilia was brought into the theatre environment at a very young age and it was at the age of 3, when she accompanied her mother to the musical Show Boat, that she discovered her passion for drama.
Emilia studied at the prestigious Drama Centre London, whose previous alumni include Paul Bettany, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan. Throughout her school career she appeared in numerous plays and often took the lead roles. Whilst still at school she landed a guest role in the BBC drama Doctors and after school, Emilia was cast in the TV movie Triassic Attack. However, it was in 2010 that Emilia Clarke got her big break when she was cast as Daenerys Targaryen in the medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones. Although a natural brunette, Emilia plays a blonde in the series. What do you think looks better?
The hugely successful series has propelled Emilia into worldwide fame and has earned her nominations for numerous awards. Most recently, Emilia played Holly Golightly in a Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The British beauty also has an impeccable fashion sense. From stunning red carpet dresses, including a dramatic Zac Posen dress, to a simple jeans, t-shirt and blazer combination, she never looks anything but perfect!
